Calcium Carbonate Powder
Calcium carbonate powder feed grade is calcium carbonate (CaCO3). It is one of the components of the diet due to its high content of Calcium (Ca) (38.5%). Calcium is necessary mainly for the construction of bones, for the proper functioning of muscles and for the production of milk. Calcium deficiency causes the well known metabolic disease hypoglycemia or hypocalcemia which is characterized by a decrease in calcium in the blood with the following symptoms such as uterine inertia, retained placenta, muscle spasms, paralysis of the hind limbs and death.
Use of Calcium Carbonate Powder:
A rational ration should have 0.20% to 0.80% Calcium (Ca) which should be given in a 2:1 ratio with Phosphorus (P) 0.16% to 0.38%. So depending on the ration we use we should maintain the ratio of Calcium and Phosphorus at the correct levels by using marble dust. Excessive calcium administration is not toxic, but apart from being able to create kidney stones, it also binds other minerals causing secondary deficiencies in animals such as Zinc and Manganese deficiency.
The bags per pallet vary.
