Oriental tobacco
In oriental tobacco, the basal fertilization is carried out 1-10 days before transplanting. During the basal fertilization 50-80% of the nitrogen is provided, as well as 100% of the phosphorus and potassium.
During the surface fertilization (20-25 days after transplanting) the remaining nitrogen and possibly some trace elements are applied depending on the macroscopic development of the tobacco plantation. Fertilizers containing chlorine should be avoided.
